Windows installer:

Windows portable:

Mac OSX:

Linux:

Changelog:
2.2.0
* Improved multithreading code. Realtime parameter changes are a lot faster now.
* Added a fast-preview imaging mode for AA > 1.
* Always show fast realtime renders when changing parameters, not just for AA=1.
* Changed default animation playback FPS to 60 from 10.
* Added loading of user transforms from XML files in 'user_transforms' dir in Chaotica appdata dir.
* Fixed crash when trying to render preview of invalid transform.
* Checking transforms more for validity when loading to avoid crashes later.
* Hopefully fixed error running on some Ryzen processors.
* Added new action: Tools > 'Reload transform library', shortcut CTRL+F5 - reloads transforms xml and restarts rendering.
* Made default tension on newly created curve knots 0.
* Sorting transform thumbnails by name.
* Showing transform name on thumbnails in transform browser.
* Closing transform browser window when world editor window is closed.
* Made Chaotica use vs2019 for Windows builds - seems to produce slightly faster code.

I'll test it now.
Is the faster preview option automatically selected when using AA1?

Also, is there a way to select the defaults when opening the app (for example resolution and aspect ratio).
I almost usually want to work in 4K with AA1, and each time I have to reset the settings.
It's nothing dramatic, don't get me wrong, but it would improve the usability.

With regards to performance on M1, while still not very usable, it's a tiny bit faster than the previous release.

Thanks.

Realtime changes are a bit faster with AA=1. With AA > 1, there were not really realtime previews before, for example if you dragged the origin of an affine transform, the main image would only update when you release the mouse button. Now it updates pretty fast (60fps?)

Defaults seems to be the #1 requested new thing, so I'll have a go at it soon. Just thinking about what kind of UI it should have.

Even just an expanded settings menu that allows you to set them would be awesome. Or even just have the software remember the settings from the last time it closed would be cool, though, I would prefer to be able to set them specifically as I usually render at higher resolution than when I design.

Finally updated from 2.0.26.
New version works very good, faster realtime change is appreciated change.
Couldn't find 'user_transforms' dir anywhere.

Will be waiting for different image formats and maybe color spaces?
Could streamline post color work more consistent when doing printing.

i am curious why you would want a different format?
the only thing i can imagine would be Layers support in a psd file

8bit png compression changes colors and introduces banding on the image. Having ability to set color space and carry it out of the program would be handy.

Related to the image format, to render bigger resolution files before program can't display or crashes, maybe single or automated mosaic rendering..

Having layer support doesn't really make sense as there's no layers in Chaotica currently. There's rudimentary layers with opacities and weights for advanced techniques and rendering multiple fractals in 'same' fractal.

You can create it yourself, for example at C:\Users\nick\AppData\Roaming\Chaotica\user_transforms

Yeah, that does sound very useful.
